Hudson Yards Celebration

I was invited to the Hudson Yards Celebration by Equinox and the vibe was very VIP. The whole area around the Vessel was sectioned off and from six to seven, only event attendees were allowed on it. Me being the early bird that I am resulted in us being one of the first few there and we practically had the entire Vessel to ourselves. If you can, take the stairs up and try to go around sunset for the full effect.

After running around the Vessel like a kid in a candy store, we went to the base of it, where there was a open bar serving a refreshing Grapefruit Spritz:

We sipped our drinks and admired the outfits of our fellow guests, which were definitely top notch. There were also colorful flower arrangements that I secretly wanted to take home:

At 7:30pm, we were split off into groups as per our invitations and sent to different restaurants accordingly. Ours was Mercado Little Spain.

We wandered inside past more amazing flower arrangements into Mercado, which had been sectioned off just for the event and turned into a hors d’oeuvre paradise. Each station was dedicated to one dish – from margarita pizza square slices to mini churros with smooth dipping chocolate.

Afterwards, we headed back outside for the part we were most excited about – an outdoor concert with Sarah Brightman, Josh Groban, and Deborah Cox (with opening notes from none other than Sarah Jessica Parker).

In short, the organizers of this whole affair certainly know how to throw a party. We had an excellent time and I’m secretly hoping for them to throw another event.
